STATEMENT FROM BISHOP KAREN RE TEAM RECTOR APPOINTMENT – Sunday 10th July 2022
‘The Patron and Bishop of Sherborne are delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Dr Ian Bird as the next Team Rector of Swanage and Studland. This is subject to the necessary checks. Ian is currently Vicar of Chandler’s Ford in the Diocese of Winchester. Ian brings with him a breadth of experience including chaplaincy, world mission and the encouragement of lay and ordained in their ministry. Ian has a clear vision for growth and strong pastoral and organisational skills. We look forward to him and his wife Judith joining the team in the autumn. Bishop Karen and Archdeacon Antony wish to thank everyone involved in the appointment process and who are serving the benefice during this time of vacancy.’
